A New Business with a Name that’s True to Form

Have you met the ‘bickering twins’? They really do exist, they really do bicker, and they really are the young chef/owners of a cool underground establishment that serves delicious food and drinks on North Cayuga Street.

Identical twins Corey and Kevin Adelman originally hail from New Jersey. Kevin attended Ithaca College and studied abroad in Bolivia, South America where he became enraptured by the country’s food, language and culture. Corey joined Kevin in Ithaca in 2015, and their first move was to start a catering company that offered creative ‘tasting pop-ups’ at different locations around town. Following two years of success, including a stint running jam-packed Taco Tuesdays at the Lincoln Street Diner and serving food upstairs at The Loft, the guys decided to open their own restaurant.

Bickering Twins Restaurant opened in April 2018 and has been drawing diners of all ages and backgrounds ever since. The food and ambiance reflect their love of cooking, their curiosity and passion for Latin American ingredients, and their desire to offer these exciting flavors right in the heart of their beloved Ithaca community. Their bar is known for amazing margaritas and mojitos, and a unique craft cocktail selection. Their food is homemade — including their guacamole, salsa, chips, tostadas and cheese – and they pickle their own veggies and make every sauce, marinade and dressing right in the restaurant. As their website states, “When you eat at Bickering Twins, you’re eating food that doesn’t cut corners…”

The community’s enthusiastic embrace speaks for itself. Bickering Twins was voted “Best New Restaurant” in Ithaca last year, and the twins intend to honor this vote of confidence as they move forward. Already, they’ve added happy hour, late nights, a party-room, and catering, and are looking forward to welcoming newcomers and tried-and-true fans as the new school year begins.
